Freedom of Information

NHS Gloucestershire publishes and responds to requests for information in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000. To assist you in looking for information the Trust has produced a Guide to Information in accordance with requirements issued by the Information Commissioner’s Office.
NHS Gloucestershire commitment to publish information excludes any information which can legitimately be withheld under the exemptions set out in the Freedom of Information Act 2000. This means that sometimes not all of the material can be made available for publication or the material made available may be edited. The Freedom of Information Act 2000 has 23 clauses of exemptions. Where individual classes are subject to exemptions, the main reasons are, for example, the protection of commercial interests and personal information under the Data Protection Act 1998. This applies to most Classes within the Publication Scheme.
If the information you require is not accessible on our website or that of another organisation, please complete the Online Request Form or if you do not have access to the internet, contact the Freedom of Information Lead for a form.
Information can only be processed if you provide, in writing, your name and address. Once the details have been processed, the lead person within a service or department who has a responsibility for responding to your request under the Freedom of Information Act may invite you to view the information or will send you a copy*. Again some information may be exempt from disclosure.
* We aim to provide you with the information you need within twenty working days. If this is not possible, we will tell you why. Although most of the information can usually be provided free of charge, in some instances there may be a charge. Payment must be received before the information can be retrieved. Where information is to be provided at a cost the charges will be calculated as set out in the Charging regimes and policies.
If you require access to personal information held about you by the NHS Gloucestershire or just for advice you can contact Legal Services.
If you wish to request information under the Act please contact NHS Gloucestershire either by completing an Online Request Form or by writing to:
